It all seems so long ago and far away...

We've been back two weeks now. We were ready to be home, but we do miss living on glide time, and we miss each other a bit too. Was the trip worth it? Every minute and every cent. We are fortunate to have spent so much time together and to seen so much together. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and I'm pretty sure the other three would too. In Australia we stayed in 30 camping grounds and travelled nearly 8,500km in the Spaceship. We would recommend it as a choice for travel, but only if you're prepared to live in small spaces and get a little grimy. Queensland is wonderful for a road trip - all travelling is hard work, but we were able to have many diverse adventures while having the comfort of an English speaking country and a way of life similar to our own. If you're looking for a different kind of holiday, then we would highly recommend Intrepid Travel. Thailand was brilliant...we loved it...we're going back...someday... And of course, staying with friends like Karen and the Keenan family is quite hard to top. So, I'll sign off with these few pics from the last three weeks or so of the trip...cheers! Watching the hang gliders near Port Douglas. Coconut munching at Cape Tribulation. More nuts at beautiful Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the sea. If we had a favourite bat, then Sammy would be the one. Swim at Port Douglas - if you dare! On the beach at Port Douglas Carrying 'home' the pineapple, the watermelon, the marshmallows... Chillagoe The hottest winter's day of our lives - Chillagoe. Inside 'The Great Western Hotel' at Rockhampton. On Lady Musgrave Island - 'just like the brochures, Mum!' On the semi-sub, Lady Musgrave cruises. With the family at Mermaid Beach, Gold Coast. 8,500km later we leave Nostromo behind.
