Port Douglas

Yes, Port Douglas is verrrry nice. 25 degrees - in the water! We spent a lovely day at the beach yesterday and an interesting, amusing and dubiously pc time at the cane toad races last night! Rosa was even a jockey for one race...oh dear me.
Cane toads were well cared for and not mishandled and as Gordy said would be dead otherwise (cos everybody hates them, they are an introduced species that have no natural predators here, and they cause lots of trouble) but once was definitely enough! We had dinner out last night - what a treat! I even had a pudding all to myself - which I believe, although you might not, was the first of the trip!
Yes, Port Douglas is very very very nice, but alas...we leave. We're heading into the tablelands..off we go!

  1. What a treat - dessert for you Sue and flowers for me. Had just returned from taking Barb and Chris to the airport and feeling a bit down in the dumps. Thankyou guys SO much. A real pick me up! Thanks too for all the nice comments and Gordy too for his "memories" which I read out in church. Tell Rosa not to bother bringing a cane toad home. Love to all. Janet.

  6. I can imagine all you are talking about with regards to Cairns, Port Douglas..the tablelands etc. That is where my mum lives. She went on a holiday...came home and decided to move there...don't get any ideas. LOL. But it is gorgeous. We always go in winter or there abouts as it is just perfect temperatures. They are all so relaxed in Cairns too which makes a great holiday.
Very sorry to hear about your Uncle. It is very hard being away during times like that.
Well, enjoy your trip down the coast.
    Kate
