We have spent the last two days at beautiful Cape Tribulation, where the Daintree Rainforest meets the beach. This is the most northern point of our Australian adventure. We enjoyed getting up close and personal with a bat (!) and hung out of a boat spotting crocs. Now we are back in Port Douglas and I guess this marks the beginning of our descent. We will spend the next 2 1/2 weeks leapfrogging our way back to the Gold Coast, filling in the gaps of places we missed on the way up, but would still like to see.
Tomorrow Caddies, Carrells, Cramptons and friends will gather in Fairlie to farewell Gordy's Uncle Graham, who was an uncle to us all. He welcomed all arrivals into his family with quiet pleasure and enjoyed nothing better than family gatherings. We are sad not to be there with everybody, but will fill our cups with lemonade and make a toast. And if we are sad, it will be for the things that will never happen again, but not for Uncle Graham who we know had an enviable certainty that he would be with his Mum and Dad now. We are sharing our memories and are grateful for the care Uncle Graham showed us, and for all those who cared for him throughout his life...'Cheers'

Hi Guys.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your Uncle, thinking of you.
Sadly, Rob's Nana passed away on 2nd June, a sad time for all.
Rob is busy studying for exams, he has had two so far and looking forward to them being over! It will be holiday's soon before we know it!
Everything else is the same old same old, busy with work, like as if you want to hear about that! =)
Sounds like you are having the time of your lives, look forward to seeing you all again.
Bye for now.
Love The Genet Clan.
Hi Guys
ReplyDeleteWe are very sorry to hear about your Nana, Rob. Hard for us 'kids'to know that those from the generation above can't always be around for us, huh?
It feels a bit surreal being removed from home.
Exams are the pits, but we know Rob will be acing them, swotty nerdy guy that he is! Seriously, I have never met anyone with such a retention for facts, but as for essay writing in an exam...ugh!
Keep smiling guys...we're looking forward to some Genet hugs when we get back :)
